Richard R. LaRoche, 66, of Riverside, died unexpectedly Friday, March 17, 2017, at Rhode Island Hospital.

Born in North Kingstown, he also lived in Warren, Barrington and West Warwick.

Richard was the son of the late Gilbert and Lucienne (Paul) LaRoche.

Richard worked as a maintenance engineer for Hospital Trust/Bank Boston for 34 years, retiring 2002.

Richard enjoyed collecting and putting together model cars, vegetable gardening, playing ball and walking the family dog, Lucy.

Richard was a faithful Christian and enjoyed the Prudence Island home church and friends at the Union Church, and was looking forward to the Fulfilled Covenant Bible Church becoming established.

Richard offered himself to the New England Donors, to give the gift of life.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife Christeen (Colwell), daughters Michelle DeGrafft, Lynn LaRoche, son-in-law Raymond DeGrafft, and granddaughter Theresa DeGrafft.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Richard's life on Saturday, April 22 at 11 a.m. at the Haines Memorial Park boat ramp area. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted and burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Richard LaRoche Memorial Fund through gofundme.com
