Cassar: Make it easier for small business

Posted

Our local economy is dependent on small businesses of all kinds, which are a critical source of services, goods and jobs. Whether home-based, brick and mortar, or virtual offices, small, locally-owned businesses in the East Bay are a stabilizing force in our economy and are a vibrant part of our communities.

However, many local business owners encounter barriers, including increasing regulations, paperwork, fees and taxes that make it challenging for them to succeed.

Regulations at the state and municipal levels are straining some business owners, undermining their ability to get established and to grow. There are reasonable solutions so that entrepreneurs of all backgrounds can succeed, such as reduction of red tape and incentives to continue investing in our communities.

I vow to work with state and local partners to make it easier for entrepreneurs and small businesses to get established, succeed, and grow in Rhode Island.
