Stillbroke. You are very right. I am on the Barrington committee on Appropriations and last week this came up. We do have great schools but we cannot be 3rd from the Bottom in per pupil expence. The average public school teacher makes $67,000 per year. In Barrington the AVERAGE teacher make$ 86,000 Per year. And the teachers pay and related Benifits are 86% of the budget Which means our teacher comp is so much more than average that we could to possibly be 30 out of 33. The math doesn't work. I have my thoughts on how but the schools still insist the numbers are right

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far.
