What Mr. Gablinske says above might be true, but the fact remains that the Democratic party endorsed David Barboza in the prior election, not Mr. Sweeney. Mr. Sweeney was elected without BDTC support.

What should the BDTC have expected Mr. Sweeney to do after not endorsing him? I believe the list of possibilities would certainly not include having "every right and every expectation" for him to fall in line. As it turned out, following his successful election, the BDTC had every right and every expectation to be remorseful for not supporting Mr. Sweeney and every right and every expectation to be afraid of how he might vote, since he was not beholden to the BDTC in any way.

Yes, the BDTC currently has every right to announce they will not be endorsing Mr. Sweeney in the next election. But Mr. Faria and the BTDC should actively expect criticism for suggesting that Mr. Sweeney should have behaved differently in the past.

And, Mr. Gablinske, you shouldn't expect any of us to forget that you ran as a write-in candidate after the Democrats turned their back on you as well.
