There are few times in life that you get to see the future very clearly. Today I had a glimpse. My legacy in life has always been to be able to pass on to my sons and grand daughters the importance of living one's life honorably

and to fulfill a mission in life to give back what God has given us in the form of service to others for n other reason

than it is what one does in a peaceful existence. I feel like my legacy is already being accomplished by my son, Patrick Rimoshytus. Although he claims to be no hero...

He is my hero by the actions for which he is being honored. Can life be any sweeter than this?? I have accomplished my goal with this guy.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
