Well, you may not have it quite right. The State was going to fill the AFO position no matter what - it's mandated by the oversight law, they said they would during the meetings, and they approved the position to be hired. The "discussion" was all but smokescreen to appease the detractors. Does the Commission want to leave? Sure. Does it have to do with their recent meddling in the City's personnel matters at the request of just one Councilman. I'm not sure. It could be good State Police are being assigned to assist with the management of the Department, though. It looks like it's needed.
