I as jim am not hiding my identity, i am also a victim, and dont care who knows it, i have read i believe 95% pf various comments some of wich disgust me, as in any case there will be defenders, but how dare you ask why after all these years we decide to come forward, walk a mile in my shoes, then ask yourself that question, if you were never violated you dont know what one struggles with, from guilt, shame, was it somehow my fault, did i ask for it, did i deserve it, you question your sexual identity, sex is meaningless, you have no more respect for authority wich leads to trouble with the law for some, i was victimized at 11yrs old, if you have kids take out thier 11yr old picture LOOK at it then picture yourself having sex with someone that young, turns your stomach doesnt it, and why did they remain around kids, BECAUSE THEY WERE NEVER CHARGED, i went to high school principle when i found out my sons basketball coach, he was aware of allegations and active investigation, nothing he could do, no charges,

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
