Clerk Cirillo; local historian is a wonderful and invaluable asset to the Town of Bristol. Like his father he'll give you the shirt off of his back to help a friend, neighbor or a complete stranger, a stand up guy.

Lou is the textbook definition of a public servant, in every way shape and form. This letter posted from a resident in Canada praising Lou is not a surprise to the locals who know his character, he takes pride in his duty pretty much on a daily basis.

Bristol's residents should be thankful to have a dedicated person who selflessly goes out of his way to help those in need. Lou, this letter sums up what we all in Bristol have taken for granted; your dedication to public service. Job well done my friend!

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
