Seller demand for real estate professionals is extremely high, yet buyers are less drawn to hire out for services. With the internet being readily available its easy to search out listings on their own.
Analyzing the housing market individually is possible, its important for buyers to seek professional counsel when making such a large decision. Any misstep can cost a buyer thousands dollars, at a minimum.
As a buyer representative you have to go the extra mile to show these people you are there to help them. Here are some points to prove your value to today’s buyers.
Make your worth known to a buyer: When meeting a prospective buyer for the first time it’s crucial to relay the message that you are a valuable asset in their home searching process. I strive to prove to my buyers that I am on their side. We form a relationship from the start that is a unified one, we are all in this for the same outcome, a new home and a happy buyer. I show buyers my knowledge of the local real estate market and particular niches they are buying in.
Clearly state your intentions: Some people are wary of real estate agents. As with people who are not comfortable with doctors or lawyers, it’s up to us to change their minds. When meeting with a buyer I clearly state my intentions throughout this process.

• What I expect from them
• Why I am the right person for the job
• Working within their time line
• Finding out their goals, wants and needs
• What knowledge and services I bring to this process that they don’t have to worry about
• What questions I expect them to have, and what answers I’m expected to provide
As a buyer representative I need to go that extra mile to make my buyers comfortable in their choice of Realtor. They need to feel well-represented throughout this whole process. It’s nerve-wracking enough just starting out, they don’t need to feel as if they are navigating this process alone. I picture myself as the rudder guiding them through the choppy waters into a safe harbor. Its important that you sell yourself and your services to buyers. They need our help.
