Home: “I live in East Greenwich, but I’m from Bristol. I’m a Squatrito. I work out of the Bristol office of Raveis Real Estate, and I often use my maiden name when I’m there, because I have so many cousins, uncles and aunts in Bristol.”

Education: “Bristol High School, Class of 1984. Such a great class, we had so much fun. Then I went to RIC for my BA in Communications, and later received a master’s degree in General Management while working in Institutional Advancement and Public Relations at Salve Regina.

Family: “I met my husband, Anthony, while I was working at Salve. For four months, I ran into him constantly at the post office in Bristol, this cute guy in a fire engine-red Jetta. Then one night, I was out with friends at the Marriott in Newport, and he was there. We talked for a while and he asked for my number. I didn’t give it to him.”

What??: “I didn’t think nice girls handed out their numbers in nightclubs.”

Okay, go on: “The next day, he showed up at the post office with a muffin and invited me to go see ‘Cinderella’ at the Ocean State Theater (PPAC). We married on Oct. 20, 1991, and have two children. Brandon is 15 and a sophomore at Hendricken, and Brianna is 13, and an eighth-grader at Cole Middle School in East Greenwich.”

Previous careers: “After we married, my husband and I moved to south Florida – he is originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, but spent many years in Florida. We lived in Boca Raton for 10 years. I worked in marketing and special events for a series of companies, but decided to stay at home after my son was born in 1997. I continued to focus on my family following our return to Rhode Island in 2001. My late father was diagnosed with cancer, and we wanted to be near him, and give him the opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren.”

Why real estate? “During one of our real estate transactions, I felt a little let down by the level of customer service we received. I felt it wasn’t what it should be, and if I were in real estate there was so much that I would do differently. That really stayed with me, and when my children were a little older, and I was ready to take on a new challenge, it motivated me to enter this field.”

Free time: “We love to sail on our Pearson 35, which is moored in Bristol, near where the Castle used to be. And I love to watch tennis – ever since I was in college and I interned at the International Hall of Fame in Newport, I have been an avid tennis fan. I can’t wait for the Australian Open in January. That marks the beginning of the season this year. I also like gardening, walking and cooking. And I make awesome biscotti. I used to have a small business selling them to local cafés, but now I just bake for friends and family.”

Work ethic: “Given my past work experience, and what led me to real estate, I am very customer service focused. It is so important that the relationship between the realtor and the client is a team effort, and that the lines of communication remain open. It’s not meant to be an adversarial relationship – it’s a partnership. And I will do everything I can to make the transaction as easy and seamless as possible. I’m professional and positive, and I never pester. When people tell me what they want, I take them at their word.
