Change in resort plan
PORTSMOUTH A revised plan has been submitted for the luxury resort development on the former Weyerhaeuser site. Attorney Vernon Gorton, representing Northern Waterfront Associates, said Coastal Resources Management Council ordered some housing moved farther from the shoreline. The developer has eliminated a few multi-family buildings near the shore and proposes to build the same number of units as single-family residences, closer to the Pheasant Hill neighborhood. Mr. Gorton said breaking these units up into single-families makes them easier to move around. He added that houses have better market conditions right now. A planning board workshop has been scheduled for 7 p.m. on April 1 at Town Hall.
