Shelter rescues abandoned bunnies
Mrs. Garrity said Oreo and two others were found during a rainstorm Thursday night in a cardboard box near the East Bay Bike Path on Railroad Avenue. Mrs. Garrity said they would hold the bunnies for a week, and if no one claimed them, they would be put up for adoption. If you're interested in visiting or adopting the bunnies, call the animal shelter at 245-4569.

Brendon MacGillivray, 4, of Barrington, holds a black and white bunny aptly named "Oreo" while visiting the Warren Animal Shelter Tuesday, while Warren animal control officer Heidi Garrity looks on. Brendon's grandmother, Betsy Jenkins of Warren, is a member of Helping Hands for Animals and brought him to see the rabbits.
