Helen E. Manchester
Longtime resident, Red Sox fan, enjoyed bingo
Helen Elizabeth Manchester, 75, of Touisset Road, died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004, at home. She was the wife of the late Horace "Hocky" Manchester.
Born in Rehoboth, a daughter of the late Irving and Isla (O'Blenis) O'Blenis, she lived in Warren most of her life.
Mrs. Manchester was a graduate of East Providence Senior High School, Class of 1947.
She was a member of the Seekonk Bowling League, the Dudek Bowling League of Warren, and the Warren Senior Citizens Center.
She enjoyed bingo and playing cards, and was a longtime Red Sox fan. She loved her two cats, Little Smoky and Little One.
She leaves two daughters, Sharon L. MacRae of Cranston and Gay L. Manchester of Warren; a brother, Calvin O'Blenis of East Providence; a sister, Kathleen Mello of Warren; two step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren; and two longtime caregivers, Mary Skac and Brenda Jarvis, both of Warren. She was the sister of late Roy, Weldon "Bud"" and James O'Blenis.
Her funeral was on Tuesday, Aug. 24, in the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home in Riverside. She was buried in South Burial Ground Cemetery, Warren.
