William Beaudry Jr., 80, of Prudence Island, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully at home on Aug. 10, 2018.

William was born in Providence, R.I., on Feb. 1, 1938, to the late William and Ethel (Kerr) Beaudry.

William is survived by his son, Robert Beaudry of Warwick, R.I., his brother, William Beaudry III and his wife Melissa of Coventry, R.I., and Michael Beaudry, his wife Janice of Santa Barbara, Calif., and his niece, Lori Eaton of Warwick, R.I.

He is survived by his brother, Kenneth Beaudry of No. Kingstown, R.I., and his beloved grandchildren, Jamie, Kayla, Nicole and Michael, and also many cherished nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Veronica Gilbride, and brothers Alfred Beaudry, Robert Beaudry, Joseph Beaudry, Arthur Beaudry and Leo Beaudry.

William was a brick mason for 30 years, then owned a shellfish business in Warwick before retiring to Prudence Island to live his life out.

Most people knew him as Uncle Bill, Daddy, or Papa. Some of his favorite things to do included Prudence Island fishing, hunting and Island Bingo. He was very crafty, he could fix or create almost anything, including handmade bird houses, rigging up fishing poles, and working with the shells from the Prudence Island beach, making penguins and even turkeys.

He loved a good party, throwing many clambakes and garage parties for family, friends and islanders. His grandchildren adored him and loved learning the island ways. He enjoyed early morning rides with his brother, Ken, looking for deer or where the fish were jumping. He also loved spending quality time with his niece Lori, her family, and son Bobby, with his house full of his grandchildren, loved ones and friends in the summers.

At William's request, funeral services will be private. Donations can be made to Operation Stand Down. This organization helps many veterans who need the help. A check can be made out to OSDRI and mailed to Lori Eaton, 1 Orms Street, Warwick, R.I. 02889.

A celebration of life will be held on Prudence Island PIA hall on Saturday, Sept. 8, at 11 a.m.
