Police recover $2,100 cash, 2 pounds of pot while executing search warrant

PORTSMOUTH — An 18-year-local man was arrested on drug charges Wednesday night, Feb. 13, after the Portsmouth Police Detective Division executed a search warrant at his home as part of a joint investigation with the Newport Police Department. 

Upon arrival at the North Street home at 7 p.m., a search was conducted which revealed nearly two pounds of marijuana, $2,100 in cash and packaging material, according to Detective Lt. Michael Arnold.

Colin J. Davis, 18, of 18 North St., was arrested and taken into custody. Police said 70 Xanax pills were found on him.

Mr. Davis was charged him with the manufacture, possession and delivery of a schedule I/II drug; as well as the manufacture, possession and delivery of a schedule III/IV drug.

Here are some other highlights from the Portsmouth Police reports over the past week:

Wednesday, Feb. 6

Kasey M. Botelho, 18, of 37 Greenfield Ave., Portsmouth, was charged with vandalism with malicious injury to property after being arrested on a warrant when she turned herself in at the police station around 3:15 p.m. The warrant stemmed from an incident first reported on Jan. 31.

Thursday, Feb. 7

Alicia M. Correia Cloutier, 32, of 271 East Main Road, was charged with domestic felony assault and possession of a controlled substance. Police made the arrested after responding to a report of a domestic disturbance at her home around 2:40 a.m.

Lesley R. Muir, 60, of 129 Constitution St., Apt. 1, Bristol, was arrested on a bench warrant issued from 6th District Court after the vehicle she was in was stopped for a traffic violation on Sandy Point Avenue around 9:40 p.m.

Friday, Feb. 8

Craig L. Medeiros, 37, of 979 New Boston Road, Fall River, was charged with driving while intoxicated after being pulled over on West Main Road at Raytheon for a traffic violation around 1:15 a.m.

Dennis P. Shannon, 47, of 15 Meeting St., Newport, was arrested on a Superior Court full bench warrant after police responded to the area of Jepson Lane and Dubois Street around 3:30 p.m. to investigate a report of a suspicious person.

Saturday, Feb. 9

Two people were arrested on warrants after the vehicle they were riding in was stopped for a traffic violation on Route 24 South at Freeborn Street around 12:40 p.m. They were Wilson Ventura, 32, of 186 Peace St., Apt. 1, Providence; and Myishia R. Johnson, 32, of 192 Alabama Ave., Providence.

Donna Cosimini, 58, of 226 Windward Drive, was charged with domestic assault after police responded to a Mare Terrace home to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance at about 4:20 p.m. The following day, Feb. 10, she was arrested again, on a felony charge of domestic breaking and entering into a house without the owner’s consent. Police made the second arrest after responding to a West Main Road home to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance at about 2:30 p.m.

Monday, Feb. 11

George A. Ogarro, Jr., 41, of 22 Pond Ave., Apt. 2, Newport, was charged with passing fraudulent checks (under $1,000) after being arrested at him home around 8:30 a.m. by Newport Police on a warrant.

Luis A. Marty, Jr., 35, of 373 Bristol Ferry Road, was charged with domestic assault after police responded to a Bristol Ferry Road home around 9:20 a.m. to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance.

Kenneth J. Potts, 42, of 2743 East Main Road, was charged with domestic assault after being arrested at his home on a warrant around 3:30 p.m.

Nathan R. Fournier, 35, of 23 Margaret St., Tiverton, was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense) after police were asked to check the condition of a driver in the area of Hedly Street and Middle Road shortly before 7 p.m. Mr. Fournier was also cited for refusing a chemical test and driving with a suspended license, police said.

Tuesday, Feb. 12

Morgan S. Moffa, 37, of 30 Johnnycake Lane, was charged with domestic assault after police responded to that home around 9:40 a.m. to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance.

Vincent A. Onorato, Jr., 44, of 161 South Clarendon St., Apt. 3, Cranston, was charged with forgery and counterfeiting and larceny of under $1,500. Police made the arrest around 10:30 a.m. at the Savings Institute Bank & Trust on East Main Road.
