Letter: Rep. Cortvriend flip-flopped on rollover contracts

Posted

To the editor:

Rep. Terri Cortvriend (Dist. 72 — Portsmouth/Middletown), progressive Democrat Reform Caucus member, is a hypocrite.

In 2017, when Terri Cortvriend was the president of the Portsmouth School Committee, one of their legislative priorities was to oppose rollover contracts (aka continuation/evergreen contracts). In August 2017, she signed a resolution requesting that local general assembly members not override the governor’s veto of the rollover contract legislation.

Again in 2018, under her leadership, the No. 2 utmost legislative priority for the Portsmouth School Committee was to oppose continuation contract legislation.

(Two weeks ago), Rep. Cortvriend betrayed the Town of Portsmouth by voting in support of the contract continuation legislation.

Shame on you, Rep. Contvriend, for being just another political chameleon.
