Tax Assessor’s Office open until 6:30 p.m. Thursdays for sticker sales

PORTSMOUTH — Just a friendly reminder from the town: If you’d like to continue using the transfer station on Hedly Street, you’ll need to have a new 2019 sticker affixed to your vehicle by Friday, Feb. 1.

The stickers are on sale at the Tax Collector's window at Town Hall for a cost of $180; a second sticker per household may be purchased at $10.

The stickers are good for one year, but the town allows the month of January as a grace period, according to Ray Antaya, the town’s recycling coordinator.

In previous years, Town Hall was opened for sticker sales on the Saturday before Feb. 1, but that won’t happen this year.

However, the Tax Assessor’s Office is open until 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays to accommodate residents who can’t get there during normal working hours.

For more information, visit the town’s website here.
