To the editor:

On Sunday, Sept. 29, thanks to the efforts of many, the third annual Walk for Westport was a grand success!  This event was sponsored jointly by the Friends of the Westport Council on Aging and the Westport Education Foundation.  This walk was dedicated to the memory of Rosemary Lenrow, the founder of the fundraising idea.

Over a hundred participants dedicated their glorious afternoon to strolling the 3.5-mile walking route located in beautiful Westport Harbor.  A family fun event followed the walk, including food, children’s crafts and games, Robert Boardman the Magician, and Al Deston Music.  Community spirit was soaring through the ocean air and it was a day that all members of the Westport community could be proud of.

On behalf of the entire Walk for Westport Committee, we thank each and every one of you that contributed to the success of this heartwarming day.  A special thank you to our sponsors, without whom funding for this event would not have been possible:  BayCoast Bank, Even Keel Realty, Lees Market, Gray’s Daily Grind, Revolution Softwash, Ten Cousins Brick Oven,  Rosemary’s Friends, Westport Business to Business, Mike Hill at Coldwell Banker, Police Officers of Westport Alliance, Acoaxet Veterinary Clinic, Arruda Insurance, Baggers Party Rentals, Bradshaw Insurance Agency, Camara’s Plumbing & Heating, CK Beach Club, Country Woolens, Elephant Rock Beach Club, En L’Air School of Dance, Grums Family Restaurant, Howland Beach Club,  Jack’s Landscape’n,  JF Moran, Kozy Nook Restaurant, Lapointe Insurance, Meganet, Mid City Steel Corporation, N.A.C. Security & Stereo Systems, Inc, Nick’s Pizza, Partners Village Store, Screencraft Tileworks, The Law Offices of Christopher Abreu, Tim’s Lawn Care, Westport Apothecary, Westport Chiropractic, Westport Federal Credit Union, Wristvana.
