Thanks, Portsmouth — now let’s work for our schools

To the editor:

I would like to thank everyone for all your help and support. As I said during my run for office the Portsmouth School Department is facing some very difficult challenges Such as the cuts in State aid. I believe that the newly elected School Committee will be able to better the quality of education, while keeping to the budget.

I would like to thank My parents Paul and Bev Kelly, my Brother Brad and Sister Veronica, my Uncle Ted and Aunt Maryellen Fischer and Uncle Peter Kelly, and my grandparents, Dale and Paula Bradley and Ann Calcutt, as well as my cousin Ryan Calcutt and the rest of my family and all my friends who where very supportive of me running for office. I am excited to work the group of people who were elected; because I believe we can do some real good. Portsmouth needs to move forward and work to better the quality of our school which is the life blood of our community.

We can now look forward to; smart fiscal management that drives quality education; strong respectful relationships with our employees, parents, and community; open dialog amongst stakeholders; and excellence in all facets of our schools.
