Thank you for helping Warren pull off landmark vote

To the editor:

The Warren Board of Canvassers would like to thank all those who contributed to the success of the Financial Town Meeting held on October 15, 2012.  It was a fantastic job accomplished by a team led by  Town Manager Thomas Gordon, Fire Chief Al Galinelli, Police Chief Peter Achilli and the Town Clerk’s Office. These dedicated individuals made the transition as smooth as it was, moving more than 400 voters from town hall to Kickemuit Middle School, signing them in and seating them in the auditorium in less than 40 minutes.

The board would also like to thank the town clerk’s office staff – Deputy Town Clerk Sandrea Speroni, Maya Gamon, Rhonda Lee Fortin – the poll workers, Riana Fortin, Mary Ellen Kee, Anne Spangler and Jarrett Fortin, hired by the board of canvassers, who moved the lines of voters as fast as possible.

The board is also grateful to firefighters David Brule and Roger Lepage, police Lieutenant Roland Brule, police Sergeant Michael Marcello, Patrolman Joel Morrissette, Patrolman Randy Bryant and Patrolman Patrick Sarasin, who expertly controlled traffic and the crowd to expedite the process. They are a testament to the ingenuity of the Town of Warren’s employees.

Thanks also to the many Warren residents who cooperated, showing great patience and understanding in light of a difficult situation.  Thank you all for making the Financial Town Meeting a success.
