To the editor:
On Friday, Nov. 9, more than 100 people came together at the Bristol Cup Defenders to raise money for Antone Borges, who suffers from Diabetic Neuropathy and is unable to work. The music, provided by Tri State DJ, helped set the mood for this wonderful evening. Food was plentiful and so was the laughter. By anyone’s standard, the fund-raiser was a huge success.
None of this would have been possible without the leadership of Antone’s daughter, Tonya Jean. When Tonya decided to have a fund-raiser for her father, she had no idea how many people would jump in to help. From planning to setting up and everything in-between, people lent a hand. Family, friends and area businesses donated prizes and food. Before Tonya knew it, there was enough food to fill three banquet tables and more than 20 items for the prize raffle. Everyone was just amazing!!!
Words cannot express just how grateful Antone and Tonya Jean are for everyone’s love and support. So many people worked incredibly hard to make this fund-raiser a success. Unfortunately, it would be impossible to list everyone’s names but know that your help and generosity is greatly appreciated. Special thanks to everyone who took the time out of their busy lives to attend and help a very deserving man get through this tough time.
If you were unable to attend the fund-raiser and would like to make a donation, please send a check made payable to Antone Borges c/o Tonya Jean Borges at 119 Child St., Apt 2, Warren, RI 02885.
Again, thank you for your kindness and generosity.
