To the editor:
In a very difficult election year in which the opposing party was heavily favored, I have fallen just short in my bid for re-election. My time in office was a fantastic experience and one that I am extremely proud of. No piece of legislation is as important to me as being there to help people, and over the past two years I have had numerous instances in which I have been able to work out issues with various state agencies for my constituents. For that and for so many other reasons, I would like to thank the voters of District 72 for the privilege of serving as their state representative for the past term.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank my friends, family and supporters who have been there for me in this past election and elections prior. Running for office is a difficult experience, but one that is made much easier with the tremendous support given by those who made themselves as invested in the races as I was.
I would like to wish my opponent the very best in what will prove to be a difficult session, in which the many problems our state is facing will have to be confronted. My opponent ran a clean, civil race, which stuck mostly to the issues and for that, our constituents, I am sure, are grateful.
Again, thank you to all who have helped me in my campaigns and I pledge to remain actively involved in our communities, as the problems we face are simply too great for those serving in elected office alone.
