Please support Warren’s kitchen incubator

To the editor:

I am writing on behalf of Hope & Main to ask for your help.   I assume most of you are familiar with this project and many have had a direct hand in supporting our efforts.  For that we are extremely grateful!

After nearly three years of working to identify funding for this $3 million project, we are very close to securing a Rural Development Community Facilities Loan with the US Department Of Agriculture (USDA).   In order for this to happen, Hope & Main must purchase the Main Street School for $125,000.  While the Warren Town Council has signed the Purchase and Sale–because this transaction involves the sale of a public building– the matter must be decided by a referendum.  In order for the vote to carry, 125 registered Warren voters MUST participate in the vote on October 15th @ 7:00 PM at Town Hall.  Even if 124 registered voters show up to support the project, this will fall short of a quorum needed and the vote will not be valid.

So what are we asking YOU to do?

1. Please vote YES on the sale of Main Street School to Hope & Main on Monday, October 15, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at Town Hall.

2. Bring 1-3 people with you when you come to vote.  We have identified you as a supporter of the project and hope you can find one or two like-minded friends! There are 60 of you on this list.  Even if ALL of you show up and ONLY you show up, the vote will not carry.

3. Please plan to come to the Public Open House on Thursday, October 11, 2012 from 7:00 -9:00 p.m. at Main Street School.  There you can learn more about the project and sample local food and spirits!  Definitely plan to bring a friend or two or three to this event as well!

4. Please forward the links below to your friends so they can track our campaign—especially on Facebook and Twitter!  The website is also a great resource and a wealth of information about the project as well as the whole kitchen incubator movement.

Check out our website. Like us on Facebook. Or follow us on Twitter:

We cannot stress enough how crucial this vote is to the ultimate success of this project.  If we fail to get a quorum…  well, I just don’t want to even THINK about that!

Please contact me with any questions.  I am happy to sit down with you or anyone in Town who has questions about the project.

Thanks in advance for your help!  We are almost at the finish line!  Go Warren!!
