The Potter League for Animals celebrated in style on Feb. 7 at the 2014 Have a Heart Party. As the years have proven, this is always an important event for homeless animals, and a beautiful celebration of the love we all share for our furred and feathered friends.
The money raised is all about heart — helping animals in need. We and the animals are forever thankful to over 400 friends and animal lovers that joined us at The Viking Hotel. Each contribution enables us to remain mission focused and allows us to evaluate, train, rehabilitate, love and find loving homes for the almost 2,000 homeless animals that will enter our shelter in 2014.
This event is a chance for us to celebrate with good friends, fun animal stories and great shopping. The array of gifts was spectacular and we are grateful to all the individuals, businesses and stores who have supported the Potter League for decades.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for one of the best winter party’s again this year. Once again, we are truly humbled to see such overwhelming community support. A heartfelt thank-you our “Corporate Community Humane Heroes”: BankRI, People’s Credit Union, Moriarty’s Fence Company, Bank Newport, BMW of Newport, Gustave White, Horan Building Company, Portsmouth Veterinary Clinic and Karns Law Group and our auction sponsors Newport Athletic Club, William Raveis and Drupal Connect.
It goes without saying that the 100 percent volunteer event committee did an outstanding job this year creating a beautiful, well-attended and fun event. We also whole heartedly thank each of our fabulous party sponsors, the amazing staff of the Hotel Viking, pianist Lois Vaughn, Exquisite Events, Chanterelle Boutique Catering, Newport Lobster, Deep Eddy Vodka, PSAV Presentation Services, Bellevue Wine & Spirits, Greenvale Vineyards, Newport Vineyards, Horizon Beverage Co., WPRI 12 and FOX Providence as well as over 50 volunteers and the Potter League staff.
The 2014 Have A Heart was a beautiful, warm and heartwarming success. Our hearts are full of gratitude because of you. Thank you!
