Letter: Firefighters kept others out of harm’s way

To the editor:

This letter is to publicly acknowledge the hard work and dedication of the Portsmouth Fire Department during the recent house fire on Common Fence Point.

The quick response, action and skill saved one house, if not all five houses in the immediate vicinity. Chief Michael Cranson is to be commended for his role in saving our community, organizing additional fire units and staying at the site long after the fire was extinguished.

The residents of Portsmouth are very fortunate to have the support and commitment to their safety.  Thank you from all who were in harm’s way.
