Letter: East Beach Road a bone-jarring drive

To the editor:

As I was reading about the proposed new beach in Westport, I was wondering why the town would put time and money into this when they can’t take care of the beach they have at East Beach.

As I bump over the East Beach Road several times a week at 5 mph, I try to send mental telepathy to the  powers that be —’Fix this blasted road! ‘ There are no amenities at East Beach — no lifeguards, no trash cans, but there are huge piles of rocks alongside the disreputable road.

Some minor scraping and oiling would be an improvement.  Is anyone paying attention?
