To the editor:
A majority of the electorate approved referendum questions on last week’s ballot about which an October Barrington Times editorial advocated a “level playing field” for gambling in Rhode Island. Ironically, that phrase reminded me of the October 1996 so-called “Midnight Rider” which was slipped through Congress to selectively ‘stack the deck’ against the Narragansett Tribe so that they would never have a “level playing field” in Rhode Island.
