Letter: Community came together to honor fallen veterans

Well I think the Memorial Day Parade in Bristol was a fine event and a great tibute to our fallen veterans. The Bristol Beterans COuncil worked hard, but we couldn’t have done it without the community support and local businesses.

A hearty thank-you goes out to the police, fire and town employees, including the Recreation Department. I’d also like to thank Metacom Avenue Dunkin’ Donuts, Floral Symphony, Joy-El Trophy, the Mt. Hope High School band and chorus, Colt-Andrews School, Boy and Girl Scouts and of course the U.S. Navy and National Guard. The Bristol Train of Artillery always helps with a lot of gun and cannon fire, a great tribute to the fallen.

We hope you enjoyed the parade and will see you on Victory and Veterans Day.
