Hard work pays off for Francis Cavaco

Congratulations to Francis Cavaco, one of Seekonk?s tireless advocates. Mr. Cavaco scored a decisive victory over David Viera this week in the election to replace Carl Bragg on the Seekonk Board of Selectmen. Ms. Bragg hasn?t said why she stepped down, but that point is now irrelevant. This town wants people on the board who truly want to be there. It?s clear that Mr. Cavaco wanted this seat badly, and he deserves it.

Mario Cirillo was their choice all along

Since former Superintendent Jacqueline Forbes left on August 4, Mr. Cirillo has been flying solo as interim superintendent. The majority of the East Providence School Committee said they wanted some time to watch their new hire and see how he fit into the department.
