Wallace (Walenty) Rodzen, 104, passed away Friday, May 30, 2014. He was the husband of the late Mary Rodzen (Gryszkow).
Born in Poland, he was a son of the late Pawel and Maria (Skiba) Rodzen. Mr. Rodzen served under the First Armored Division of the Polish Army in England during World War II. He participated in the Invasion of Normandy and was later stationed in West Germany with international troops on a mission to keep peace. In 1951, Mr. Rodzen immigrated to the United States. He was a long-time resident of Warren and a parishioner of former St. Casimir’s Church.
He leaves his step-daughter, Barbara Donahue and her husband Dennis; step-grandchildren, Karen, Jim and Mark; four step-great grandchildren; his nieces, Janina Zagula, Jane Gendreau, and Carol Connell; a great-niece, Malgorzata Rainey, six great-nieces and nephews and one great-great-niece.
A committal service was held in St. Mary of the Bay Cemetery in Warren. Contributions in his memory may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 757517, Topeka, KS 66675.
