Sandra (Silva, Nichols) Willard, 50, of Bradford, NH, passed away tranquilly in her home on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, after a long and courageous battle with a debilitating illness.
Sandra was born in Providence, on June 11, 1963 to Manuel and Marjorie (McCoart) Silva. She graduated from East Providence High School in 1981, and went on to graduate from Providence College in 1986. Sandra pursued a teaching career, and eventually found a home at St. Andrew’s School in Barrington. She loved teaching and was passionate about mentoring, and guiding her students. She carried on lifelong relationships with many of them.
In 2003 she met Alan Willard and later moved to NH where they were married in 2007. While in NH, Sandra was a substitute teacher, and was employed by The Intertown Record newspaper.
Members of her surviving family include her mother, Marjorie Silva, her brother Stephen Silva, his wife Claudia, and their two children, Jennifer, and Zachary, all of Smithfield, her brother Jonathan Silva of Springfield, NH, and his partner, and her lifelong friend, Karin Dreier, of Barrington, her god child Laurie Bone, of Riverside, and her beloved cats Gizzy and Daisy.
She was predeceased by her father, Manuel Silva in 1995, and by her husband, Alan Willard in 2011.
A memorial service will be held at the Chapel at St Andrew’s School on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 1 p.m.
