Richard Cabral, 72, formerly of Bristol

obit CabralRichard Cabral,72, of Valrico, Florida, and formerly of Bristol, passed away on April 28. He was the husband of Carmen (Nazario) Cabral. They were married for 46 years.

Born in Fall River, Mr. Cabral was the only child of the late Francis and Emily (Vargas) Cabral. He was a wonderful father to Sharon Cabral, Deborah (Robert) Cullen and Richard F. Cabral; and grandfather to Richard A. Cabral and Jesse Cabral. Mr. Cabral was a 1960 graduate of Bristol High School and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Navy, proudly retiring as a Chief Petty Officer.

Richard raised his family in Luquillo, Puerto Rico and worked as a project manager for AFWTF on the U.S. Naval Station Roosevelt Roads. He was also an adjunct professor of business management for New Hampshire College. Mr. Cabral loved drum corps, watching football and his numerous dogs. He was a member of the American Legion and the Latin-American Domino Club.

He will be laid to rest on Thursday, July 24 at 2 p.m. in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bristol. Memorial donations may be made to: ALS Association Florida Chapter, 3242 Parkside Center Circle, Tampa, FL, 33619-0907.
