Peter Collin Forrester, 73, of Westport, formerly of Dedham and Boston passed away peacefully at home on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013. Born on Oct. 20, 1939, he was the son of the late Katherine C. and Robert R. Forrester Jr. He was the beloved husband of Edith Brooks Forrester, devoted father of Marion (Marnie) Jarrett, of Owings Mills, Md., and her husband Jay, and Melinda (Lindie) Wilson, of Dover, Mass., and her husband, Peter. He was the cherished grandfather of Mason and Brooks Jarrett and Frances and Abigail Wilson. He grew up in Rumson, NJ, and Salisbury, Conn., and spent his summers in Kennebunkport, Me.
A graduate of Boston University’s School of Public Communications, he later served in the United States Marine Corps. His career led him to become a vice president of Cabot, Cabot & Forbes and later a senior vice president of CB Commercial Real Estate Group.
He was a member of the Dedham Country & Polo Club, the Acoaxet Club, Spindle Rock Club, and Elephant Rock Beach Club. He was a great lover of the arts and all types of music, and was formerly a member of the Apollo Club of Boston. He served as president of the Westport Council on Aging, and was an honorary member of the Corporation of Dedham Country Day School.
His memorial service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 24, at 11 a.m. in the United Congregational Church, the Commons, Little Compton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Westport Council on Aging, 75 Reed Road, Westport, MA 02790. Arrangements are in the care of the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Cherry Place.
