_Patricia_A._Costa_croppedPatricia Ann (Barboza) Costa, 63, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 10, 2013, at home. A lifelong resident of Warren, she was the daughter of Mary Soares of Warren and the late Arthur Barboza. For 38 years she was the wife of the late John Costa Jr.

Patricia was a graduate of Warren High School Class of 1968. She worked for the Warren Housing Authority before going to work for the Town of Warren, from which she retired in June. When her children were younger, she was very active with Warren Little League and Pop Warner. She was a past member of the Women’s Duck Pin Bowling League. She was a long-time member of the Warren Democratic Town Committee, having served as secretary and treasurer. Patricia loved to play Bingo and caring for her yard at her home of 40 years.

Besides her mother, she leaves her children, John and Erin Costa of Goodyear, Ariz. and Dianna and Michael Carey of Pawtucket; her sister, Janice Belford of Crossville, Ill.; and her grandsons, Tristan and Jacob Costa. She also leaves her beloved companion, Gary Couitt of Warren, many nieces and nephews, several step-grandchildren, and two step-great-granddaughters, all of whom she loved with all her heart.

Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, where family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 15. Funeral services are at 9 .m. Friday, August 16, from the funeral home, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary of the Bay Church, Main Street.
