Carmella_M._Simonelli_obit_picMillie Simonelli passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 26, 2014. A lifelong resident of Bristol, she was the wife of the late Neil Simonelli.
Millie worked as a nurse at the Rhode Island Veterans’ Home and Desilets Nursing Home in Warren. She shared her passion for travel with her family and friends. She will be remembered as a generous and strong woman, known for her great Italian cooking, love of animals, abundance of wisdom, and quick laugh.
She leaves a daughter, Beverly Sweeney (Michael) of Florida. She was the loving grandmother to Debra Medeiros, Donna Skelton (Larry), Bevi  Blouin (K.C), Vicky White and Jay Caetano (Sandy), great-grandmother to Jennifer, Bonnie, and Laurie, Neil, Connor, Seamus, Graham, Damien and Mia; and great-great grandmother to Tyler, Alex and Jacob.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Fred Carraturo, Nancy Martel, and
Carmine Carraturo, and is survived by her siblings Theresa Martel, John Carraturo Jr. (Carol), Dorothy Johnson and Robert Carraturo; and her sister-in-law, Agnes Carraturo.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, we all know that Millie would prefer that donations be made to Friends of the Bristol Animal Shelter, 11 Broad Common Road, Unit 155 Bristol, RI 02809. See www.wjsmithfh.com.
