Maria C. (Primiano) Lavey, 92, passed away Monday, Jan. 6, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late William J. Lavey Sr.
Born in Warren, she was a daughter of the late Domenico and Incoronata (Vitullo) Primiano. She was formerly employed for more than 30 years at Blount Seafood Co. Mrs. Lavey was a communicant of St. Alexander’s Parish and was a member of the Legion of St. Ann and the Women’s Apostolate, and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She leaves her daughter, Kathleen Francis and her husband Richard; her grandchildren, Richard Francis and his wife Tracey, Michael Francis and his wife Lori, Christina Cote and her husband George, William Francis and his wife Robin, Susan Komiega and her husband Scott and David Francis and his wife Madhuri; her great-grandchildren, Jennifer Francis, Kelley Francis, Nicole DiOrio and her husband Nicholas, Matthew Cote, Heather Francis, Sean Andrew, Aiden and Ian Komiega, and Priya and Olivia Francis. She was the mother of the late William J. Lavey Jr., great-grandmother of the late Jack Komiega, and sister of the late Adolf and Gilbert Primiano.
A Mass of Christian burial was held Saturday, Jan. 11, in St. Alexander’s Church, with private burial. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Alexander’s Church, 221 Main St., Warren, RI 02885. See www.wilbur-romano.com.
