Madeline A. (Ferreira) LeBlanc, 73, of Tiverton, formerly of Somerset, passed away on Friday Sept. 28, 2012, at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. She was the wife of 35 years to Paul U. LeBlanc.
Madeline was born in Taunton, the daughter of Mariano and Delvina Josephine (Viveiros) Ferreira. She graduated from Dighton High School. Cclass of 1957. She worked for Raytheon as a financial analyst for 20 years before retiring in 1983. Following retirement from Raytheon she operated The Country Goose, a quilting and crafting studio. She then was a caregiver for Life Incorporated in Warren for several years.
Madeline cherished the time she spent with her family and friends. Earlier in life she was an avid tennis player and skier. She enjoyed sewing, making crafts and quilting.
Survivors besides her husband are a son, Christopher Souza and his wife Andrea of Cranston; two grandchildren, Caitlin and Jacob; two sisters, Beverly and Donna Menezes, both of Somerset; two brothers, Robert Ferreira of New York, and Raymond Ferreira of Somerset; along with many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held on Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Hathaway Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Patrick Church, 306 South Street, Somerset. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick Cemetery, Somerset.
