Louis A. DiMario, 65, passed into eternal life unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 12, 2013. Louis was the beloved husband and cherished friend of Joanne (Jacquard) and devoted and proud father of Jacob B. DiMario.
Born in Fall River, Mass., on Oct. 7, 1947, he was the son of the late Anna (Calitri) DiMario and the late Louis A. DiMario Sr. As a child, Lou sang in the Barrington Boys Choir. He graduated from the Barrington School System in 1965 and from Providence College in 1969. He was a member of the Barrington Town Council in the early 1970s.
As an independent sales representative Lou made many lasting and treasured friendships with those he worked with. Lou was a proud member of Rhode Island Country Club for 30 years. He served on the golf and green committees. He was a former member of the board of governors. Lou began his affiliation with the club as a childhood caddy. He shared his love for the game as assistant coach for the Barrington High School golf team and as head coach for St. Andrew’s School golf team in Barrington. Lou’s proudest moments in golf were playing with his son and teaching him the important lessons of life through the game of golf.
As a father, Lou actively participated in Jacob’s activities. He was a Barrington Little League baseball and CYO basketball coach.
In addition to golf, Lou enjoyed fishing, reading, listening to music, cooking and playing with his “puppies” Angie and Nickie, who brought him such joy and laughter. Lou was a person of deep inner strength and feelings. Family and home were most important to him.
In addition to his wife and son, he is survived by his sister, Marilyn Waugh and her husband David of Jacksonville, Fla., Steven Jacquard and his wife Marilyn of Chepachet, Robert Jacquard and his wife Kathleen of Cranston, several nieces and nephews and his life long friend, Robert Ainsworth of Boynton Beach, Fla.
