Born in Detroit, Tex., daughter of the late Charles H. and Lillian May (Griggs) Thompson, she had lived in Westport since 1946. Mrs. Costa was the owner/operator of Costa’s Vegetable Stand in Westport and she was a school teacher at the Westport Elementary School for 27 years.
Survivors include a son, Paul H. Costa of Westport; two daughters, Lillian V. Burbank and her husband Howard of Westport, and Ann Thomas of Bridgewater; four grandchildren, Karen Burbank and her husband Bradford Fairbanks, Anthony Burbank, Danise Thomas and Lynn Rayner; three great grandchildren, Samantha Rayner, Alexander Rayner and George Fairbanks; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Michael L. Costa and sister of the late Wayne Thompson, Herbert Thompson and Mamie Honeycutt Edwards.
