OBIT-GoulartJohn R. Goulart entered eternity on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at the home he built in Little Compton. He would have celebrated his 99th birthday on March 6.

He leaves his much-loved wife of 72 years, June, and a large family of whom he was very proud.

He was the beloved father of Judy Rosa and husband Frank, John Goulart and wife Bernadette, Kathy Brennan and husband Gary, recently deceased son Joseph and wife Linda, Juanita Goulart, Jennifer Goulart and Karen Marks. He also leaves behind son-in-law Andy Marks. He was grandfather to 27 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his brother George and his wife Lorraine Goulart.

He lived his faith, loved his God, treasured his family, and leaves an emptiness in our hearts that will not be filled again until we are reunited in eternity.

Calling hours will be Friday, Feb. 15, in St. Catherine of Siena Church, on the Commons, Little Compton, from 4-6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated the following morning, Saturday, at St. Catherine’s at 11 a.m. A reception will be held in the church hall immediately following the Mass. Arrangements are by Fern Acres Funeral Home.

    Psalm 23:4
    4 Even though I walk
    through the valley of the shadow of death,
    I will fear no evil,
    for you are with me;
    your rod and your staff,
    they comfort me
    Our prayers and love are with you Aunt June and the Goulart Family.
    Blessings, Love, Anita, Joe, Jeanne, Ed Million and family

  2. Words cannot express my deepest sorrow at the passing of Uncle Johnnie. My most fondest childhood memories are from the MANY times that I spent at his and Aunt June’s beautiful home. He was the epitome of a loving husband, father, uncle, and grandfather and will be sorely missed in the community, I am certain. Although the miles separate us, I wish everyone to know that I sincerely wish that I could be there. PLEASE know that all my prayers are with you. Love, Michelle “Mickey” Pelletier King
