John “Cappy” Silvia, 85, of Burton Street, died Wednesday December 12th at Silver Creek Nursing Home. Born in Bristol a son of the late John and Phoebe (Sousa) Silvia. He was the husband of Charlotte (Jester) Silvia.
He was a WWII Navy Veteran and was a heavy equipment operator for JH Lynch. He belonged to Local #57, Operating Engineers, and was a lifetime member of the VFW in Bristol.
He was the father of John C. Silvia and Bruce W. Silvia both of Bristol, Mark R. Silvia of Coventry, Gary S. Silvia and Rosalind B. Daponte both of Texas; brother of Joseph Silvia of Bristol and the late Billy Silvia and Mary Faria; grandfather of Sara, Gregory, Christopher, Kerri, Roger, Tristinna, Mark, Lauren, and Sarah-Anne; and great grandfather of nine.
A Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family.
