James Way, 65, of Bristol, died February 21, 2013 at Miriam Hospital. He was the husband of Josepha (Feldman) Way.
Born in East Granby, Conn., the son of the late Morris and Constance (Rae) Way, he was a lifelong area resident. He worked for Walmsley Marine in Warren until his retirement. He was an avid sailor, and volunteered his efforts to the restoration of the US 12 meter ship named “Courageous”, twice winner of the Americas Cup. He was also a member of the First Spiritualist Church of Brockton in Rehoboth.
He was the stepfather of Julie Scofield of Bristol and Beverly Andracchi of Connecticut, five step-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren. He leaves a sister, Suzanne Way of Florida. He was step-father of the late Justin Rehnback.
Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd., Warren where family will receive friends Saturday, March 2 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a Service of Remembrance beginning at 6 p.m. Interment will be private.
