Henry Rogers, 88, of Cole Street, Bristol, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2014. He leaves his beloved wife of 66 years, Leonora “Lee” (Estrella) Rogers; his son, Daniel, and his wife, Janice; his daughter, Nancy Bush, and her husband, Kevin; three loving granddaughters, Kristen Rogers, Julie Rogers and Rebecca Bush; and great-grandson, Elijah Rogers. He is also survived by his sister, Helen Federico.

Henry, a lifelong resident of Bristol, was the son of the late Cecelia (LaChapelle) Pimental. He worked for U.S. Rubber and Kaiser Aluminum and as a computer analyst for the Navy for 23 years before retiring in 1986. He served in the Navy during World War II.

Henry was a 40-year member of Bristol Council 379 Knights of Columbus. He served as Grand Knight for Bristol in 1978 and was a member of 4th Degree, St. Pius X Assembly. Henry progressed through the state ranks and became State Deputy in 1992, the state’s highest elected office. Henry was also a member of the AMVETS, Bristol Post 37.

Henry and Lee enjoyed 14 years of “Snowbirding” at their home in Port St. Lucie, Fla. He also enjoyed travel, his family, the Boston Red Sox and involvement in charitable work.

Henry’s funeral was held Wednesday, March 12, from the George Lima Funeral Home, Bristol, with a Mass of Christian Burial concelebrated by Rev. Richard Narciso and Rev. Scott Pontes at St. Elizabeth Church. Liturgical readings were by Rebecca Bush and Donna Lee Geary.

The Prayer of the Faithful was read by Cecilia Wilson. The offertory gifts were presented by Nancy Bush and Janice Rogers. The eulogy was given by Jim Wilson II. Burial followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Julie Rogers, Kristen Rogers, Abram Lefebvre, Jon Correia, Jim Wilson II, Matthew Wilson, Bill Geary and Jim Wilson III.
