Franklin D. Rego Sr., 77, of Little Compton, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at home. He was the husband of the late Frances (Shepard) Rego. Born in Little Compton a son of the late Joseph S. and Georgianna (Elshant) Rego, he was a lifelong resident of Little Compton.
Mr Rego was a machine operator for several construction companies for 40 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force.
He leaves two sons, Steven F. (his wife Maureen) Rego, and Franklin D. Rego; two brothers, Joseph Rego Jr. and Robert Rego; four sisters, Mary Benson, Agnes Braz, Natalie Darling, and Georgianna Souza; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was also the brother of the late Ronald Rego, Louise Almeida and Lydia Rego.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. from the Fern Acres Funeral Home, 72 Willow Ave., Little Compton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 in St. Catherine of Siena Church on the Commons. Visiting hours are Thursday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will take place in Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, Little Compton.
