Everett F. Robinson, 80, of Warren, died Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at the Grace Barker Nursing Home in Warren, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Joan (Cheetham) Robinson.
Born in Fall River, the son of the late Everett and Mildred (Johnson) Robinson, he was a lifelong resident of Warren. Mr. Robinson was employed as a telephone technician with Verizon until his retirement in 1989. He Served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and was a member of the Warren Baptist Church, Bristol Elks #1860, American Legion Post 0104 , the Order of Odd Fellows, and was a life member of the Verizon Pioneers.
Mr. Robinson was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan and enjoyed traveling and gardening. Most of all, he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who cherished spending time with his family. He was known to everyone as the “Happy Telephone Man.”
He leaves his sons Joseph Robinson and Russell Robinson and his wife Barbara, all of Bristol, Andrew Robinson and his wife Sue of Long Island, N.Y.; his daughter Kathleen Clemmey and husband Christopher of Tiverton; his sister Martha Patterson; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are with Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, where the family will receive friends Monday, April 1 from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, in the funeral home. Interment in South Burial Ground, Warren, will follow.
