Elizabeth L. (Betty) (nee Thivierge) Lamora, 65, of Warren, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Thomas J. Lamora for nearly 45 years.
Mrs. Lamora was born in Fall River, had been a life-long Warren resident, and was a graduate of Warren High School (Class of 1965) and the Community College of Rhode Island. She was employed as a nurse at Crestwood Nursing Home for 30 years.
She was the mother of Christopher J. Lamora of Arlington, Va. and Michelle Waldron of Derry, N.H. She was the grandmother of Jack and Patrick Waldron. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Thivierge and Dora (St.Pierre) Thivierge, and the sister of Joseph Thivierge of Warren, Donald Thivierge of Bristol and the late Janet Stoffel.
Mrs. Lamora loved her family, travel, genealogy, and all things “Wizard of Oz.” She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Bristol and a past member of the Bell St. Chapel in Providence, where she was active in peace and social justice activities and was a past chair of the worship committee.
A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church, High Street, Bristol, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 2. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the East Bay Food Pantry.
