Edward L. Brule, 93, of Winchester, Ma. and formerly of Warren, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, after a very brief illness. He was the husband of the late Mildred (Arrigo) Brule.
Born and raised in Warren, Edward was a son of the late David and Mary Jane (Emery) Brule. He was a Winchester resident for the last 50 plus years. He was a World War II Army veteran serving from October 1940 to June 1945. He participated in campaigns in Sicily, Normandy, Northern France, Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia. Ed was a heavy machine gunner and was twice the recipient of the Silver Star. He also earned the Bronze Star and Purple Heart medals.
Mr. Brule leaves many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews here and is known to many in the East Bay, as he spent much time here for clambakes and family gatherings. He was predeceased his siblings, David L., Leo H. and Ambrose Brule, Yvonne Blank and Rita Soboleski.
Funeral services were held in Winchester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Deanna M. Brule Educational Fund, 160 Kickemuit Road, Warren, RI 02885.
