Born in Providence, RI, Dominic graduated from Barrington High School in 1992. After high school, Dominic lived briefly in Arizona and then moved to Maine.
He was a talented chef who enjoyed fine dining as well as dive diners. An amateur photographer, Dominic made it his goal to visit and photograph all of Maine’s lighthouses. He had an extensive knowledge of music and was an avid enthusiast of classic rock.
He will be remembered by so many for his sharp wit, sense of humor, and ability to make people laugh and feel at ease. Incredibly thoughtful and compassionate, he moved all those who knew him with his gentle and kind spirit.
Dominic leaves his mother, Shirley Voccio of Maine; his father, Frank Voccio of Barrington; his sister, Alaina Voccio of Santa Monica, CA; his niece and nephew, Marissa and Eric Lima, both of Santa Monica; and countless close friends. He was also the proud ”father” of his beloved Boston terrier mix, Zoey.
A memorial service in his honor will be held this summer. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to “The Dominic Voccio Memorial Fund”, c/o The First, NA, PO Box 940, Damariscotta, ME 04543.
