Born in Bryn Mawr, Penn., Mr. Allen was a longtime resident of Westport. His passion was photography, which he enjoyed both personally and professionally through his teachings at Westport High School and UMass Dartmouth. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Mr. Allen is survived by his three children, Benjamin D. Allen and his wife Erin of Assonet, Mass., Courtney A. Kane and her husband Trafford of Swansea and Nathaniel D. Allen of Westport; his sister, Patricia A. Noble and her husband Jerry of Winter Haven, Fla.; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the United Congregational Church of Little Compton, 1 Commons, Little Compton.
Interment will be private.
