corriveau, armandArmand J. Corriveau, 89, of Westport passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Alice E. (Boissinot) Corriveau.

Armand was born in Fall River, the son of the late Joseph and Yvonne (L’Homme) Corriveau. He served his country during World War II at the Battle of the Bulge in Normandy with the United States Army’s 280th Engineer Combat Battalion and earned the rank of corporal.

After the war, Mr. Corriveau began working for Davis Print then for Riveredge Printers in Fall River.  He then owned and operated Armand Construction for a few years. Mr. Corriveau went to work as a technician inspector at Raytheon in Portsmouth, RI, until his retirement in 1988.

Armand was a communicant of Saint George Church in Westport. He was a founding member of the DAV in Westport. Mr. Corriveau cherished the time he spent with his family and friends and helping others.

Survivors are a daughter, Suzanne Y. Nawrocki and her husband Richard of Westport; two grandchildren, Lauren Belliveau and her husband Rob of Dartmouth, and Richard Thomas and his wife Beth of Cranston, RI; three great grandchildren, Robbie, Eric, and Johan; along with many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Irene Cote, Maurice and Roland Corriveau.

His funeral will be held on Friday at 8:45 a.m. from the Hathaway Home for Funerals, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in Saint George Church 12 Highland Avenue, Westport. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial with military honors will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
